Additional local storage location for fast recovery

In addition to the image’s configured data storage, you can also store it locally on the device from which the image was created. This has the advantage that the image does not have to be copied over a network, but can be accessed directly.

Local data storage should only be activated if at least 2 hard disks are available on the device or if a removable disk is available. With this, you can, for example, save an image of the hard disk C: on the hard disk D:. A USB drive can also be selected as local storage location.

The local storage location can be specified during the Job configuration. Proceed as follows:

  1. Check the checkbox Local data storage activated.
  2. Click on the section Local data storage.
  3. The Drive selection dialog will open. Here you can select the hard disk or USB drive where you want the image to be saved.

The directory where the image is stored on the selected hard disk or drive is always Image Service Backups.

For example: If you specify C: as hard disk, the image is stored in the directory C:/Image Service Backups/.

  4. Under Number of local backups retained (rollover), specify the number of images that you want to be kept locally. Once this number has been reached, the new image will overwrite the oldest one.
